My opinion stays that it has great story good world, although unfinished terrible controls, just god awful and no support whatsoever in terms of leading the player. Not so long ago I posted about Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. But I hope for much better controls in sequels. Overall a good game, and I'll play the rest of the series. It's more of a criticisim towards me than the game, because that's just how games were made (probably), but it still was anonying. If it weren't for a detailed playthrough I'd never complete this game and it stil ltook me twice as long.

This game has no map (the mod I talked about adds one to menu), no minimap, no quest log or anything that would remind you where to go (Old God does tell you where to go, but it's more like 'remember that waterfall you went past 2 hours ago? there was a wall you can climb now' and it's only once) and any indicator of what to do or use is a slightly lighter colour of the thing you need to act upon. I'm also too stupid for games like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Wild camera swivels when pressing jump button did not help. It took me around 20 minutes to defeat this boss because for the love of me I could not land on those f*****g platforms. One boss fight takes place on small platforms surrounded by water (remember, water is bad for vampires). Raziel doesn't stop when you tell him to, has weird acceleration when jumping and those aren't even the worst parts! Often Raziel walks straight where camera shows, but the camera moves on it's own based on level geometry. Controls are abyssmal, don't know if it's due to the porting to PC, using a mod or it was like that in the original game.

The story makes playing Raziel enjoyable.ДЄnd thank god for the game being enjoyable because if the story wasn't so good I'd quit long time ago. He isn't good in any way, but he's been sentenced to death, he's forced to kill his brothers, he finds out his past as a member of a faction hell bent on domination. With your newly acquired powers Raziel seeks vengenance on those who wronged him, mainly Kain, the first vampire. He's transformed into something even more monstrous by an Old God, instead of blood you now hunger for souls. You play as Raziel, a vampire who was cast into the depths of a deadly vortex for his insubordination. I've also encountered bugged sounds but it's most likely due to switching windows. Thankfully there's a mod that fixes the game, but also introduces some changes so be aware (for example some writings on the walls are in russian, not a meaningful change but I've also noticed characters not moving properly in cutscenes). For starters the game doesn't work, literally crashes on startup.

What I do remember is my brother playing Soul Reaver 2 oraz Defiance on PS2 and as such I wanted to get a nostalgia trip and try those games.
